There are two Masonic organizations for women that meet at the Medford Masonic Center. One of which is open to both men and women. For information regarding either of these organizations, you may call the Masonic Center office at 541-772-2541. Reames Chapter #66 (Order of the Eastern Star) is a Masonic group for women and men. A woman must be a relative of a Mason to join, and a man must currently be a Mason. Widows of Masons or relatives of a deceased Mason may join if he was in good standing at his passing. Many of the men who are members of Medford Lodge #103 are also members of this Eastern Star Chapter. Reames Chapter of Eastern Star provides philanthropic support to the Eastern Star Masonic Home, for cancer and heart research, and many more worthy causes. Bahari Court #104 (Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America) is a women's only group. A potential member must be recommended by two members of Bahari. The requirement of being related to a Mason is not necessary for membership in Bahari Court. Bahari members are commonly known as "Lady Shriners" because their philanthropic effort in in support of Shriner's Hospitals. |
